Ready? Set. GO!

1 down, 30 more to go! Days that is, for the Sexy Challenge results to be in. One co-worker backed down, so it’s just me and my IT guy competing and $100 cash is on the line. My trainer did some measurements on Sunday, but I think tonight I will do my entire body’s measurements for my own records.

I have been slowly going back to the gym and have been basically only doing cardio. Last night I did an hour of weight training and an hour & 15 minutes of cardio. I woke up this morning a little sore, but not as much as I thought I would be.

Before hitting the gym I went to Road Runner’s Sports Store in Anaheim and purchased some new running shoes. Before finding the right shoe, they anyalsis your footsie. I had to walk across a sensor that brings up a thermo picture of my stepping pattern. Then I had to run on a treadmill and a thermo camera displays my running pattern on the screen.

We review my running pattern and after trying on 5 different shoes, I went with theAsics GEL-Nimbus VIII. Now that is a mouth full! They have lots of shock absorption, but are still lightweight and flexible. 10.3 ounces

The sales associate said I should get a good 450-600 miles on them before replacing them. How am I supposed to keep track of that?

well I guess you're going to have to put a little step tracker on your shoe :-) ... OR.. you could count every single step you take while wearing them.

I think I will guess-amate...and keep them for 6-8 months :) That seem a whole lot easier!

WOW that's a cool process to buy new shoes. I wonder if we have anything like that here?

Maybe your shoes should have come with a pedometer so you'll know when you should replace them.

I see they don't have a Road Runner's in your area, but you can click on the website and shop over the phone with a trainer.

I am sure any running store in your area will have stuff like that.

I know of two here is CA.

yeah, but you can't run on a treadmill over the phone on a thermothingie!!!!

Wow that's quite a process for buying shoes!!! I never went through anything like that before.

Although I'm pretty sure my shoes are nearly as comfortable as the ones tailored for you like that.

JOrdan - So true! But maybe they can help you analysis your shoe's tread and figure out what shoes are the best fit. OR ...you & Flat Coke could come down to CA and experience this first hand! :)

James - It's a cool process. If you ever want to go it's right next to Orangewood gym. We could head over there before a workout! :)
