Asking for a miracle

Updating you on the goal blog. I finally picked my prizes. If (I know I should be saying when) I get an "A" in all my classes, then my prize will be either
- a mini trip to either The Madonna Inn with dinner at their restaurant
or
- a trip to Vegas and visit the Body Museum.

If I get a "B" or better in all my classes, then my prize will be
- Jay paying for my next tattoo. We were going to getting matching tattoos that say "LOYALTY" on the side of our torso, but didn't get around to it. So if I am a good girl and study my little heart out, then he will front my cost. :)

No reward for C's ... I have been putting more effort in this semester, but I am weary of how well I am doing. For goodness sakes, I am taking Philosophy 100, College English, Chemistry and Trig. Now asking for all A's is gonna take a miracle! B's might too!

Driving cars and choked with a stick

I stayed home Friday night because there was a little bit of tension between Jay and I. I don't want to get into it all, but it involves his ex and mother of his daughter coming over to get ready to go out. WHATEVER!

Anywho... Good thing came out of it, I got to spend some quality time with my niece. I picked her up and we were planning on catching up over some coffee, but our tummies were growling so we had sushi instead. She had never had tempura before and said she hated it. I love how people can just look at something and decide whether they will like it or not. Needless to say, she tried it and loved it! Oh, and right before eating she wanted to stop by to "look" at a phone she REALLY wants! I feel someone is hinting! Cuz why else would she need to just stop by a store that she already knows has the phone that she REALLy wants just to show me and tell me she needs to save up AND doesn't have a job. She must think since I bought her a phone awhile back that I am the phone giving goddess or something. HINT DENIED!

We headed back to her house and I parked in a parking lot next to her house and got out of the car. She didn't know why I went to the passenger side until I told her she was about to get driving lessons. She had asked me earlier and I told her maybe. As I drove with her I quiz her on speed limits, signs, painted curbs, scenarios, etc. We did some drills like using your mirror to back up, parking, turns and then off to the streets we went! Residential of course! At first she FREAKED out, was on the WRONG side of the street, STOPPED while on the wrong side of the street and then quickly drove back into the safe parking lot. Geez... talk about giving me a heart attack. She had just finished saying she drove her ex's car. Well, apparently not on the street (which I later learned was true!). We did some more drills in the parking lot and then just drove the blocks around her house for about 10 minutes. She did VERY well. Stayed in the speed zone, on her side of the street and was calm.

Then we decided to go watch a movie. She picked the movie 27 Dresses. I had never heard of it, but it was appropriate for her and I. Totally a chick-flix, but cute!

Saturday is a blur to me. I know I was pooped and slept in until noon. Woke up made breakfast, cleaned, went to practice and watched my lil niece that evening. And Jay came over and made stuffed bell pepers...YUM!

Sunday I went to an invitation jujitsu clinic. The flyer said "Bo No Kata" but I had no idea what I was in for. It was jujitsu throws, chokes, arm bars and wrist locks with a STICK. OUCH! Sensei T went with me and I think he was putting a little too much elbow grease in it. I felt like his practice dummie. I know he wanted to show off his skills and diversity of knowledge in the martial arts areana because he will soon be teaching clinic with my school, but release the ego and stop using me as a dummie! I had to stop working out because at one point we were learning a break of the arm, then jujitsu throw. When he threw me he did some adv. technique and I felt him twist my arm twice. It was hot, swollen, red and I couldn't move it. It just went to sleep. And from the pain and frustration and yup I started to cry. I turned around and went to occupy myself my pulling my hair back while I composed myself but my hand couldn't even maneuver my hair scrunggy. That's when I called it quits for the day. Talk about awkward moment. Not to mention one of the regular students I work out came to watch the clinic and yup he saw me crying. They were probably thinking.. "darn girls!" but oh well, that's the way it went down. Today my body is sore from the 2.5 hours of stick jujitsu fighting and not being condition to throwing or should I say falling. My elbow REALLY hurts, too. We did so many locks with a stick that I am feeling the pain. I was supposed to lift weights during lunch but I think I will take it lightly and just do cardio.

EBAYING IT

YAHOO! I sold my first item on eBay successfully! I had a book that was published in 2003 and the college bookstore would not buy back since a new publication was coming out. They said I could "donate" it and stick it in a pile of other books that wer enot being bought back either. "No, thanks!" Just because my school is not accepting it, doesn't mean someone out there can't use it! Right? I listed it on eBay for $19.99 and got $40.00 for it! Yippee!!! I listed my Music Appreciation book that was "overstocked" at the bookstore and could also not be sold back and currently it's going for $56+.

I started to think that I normally just give stuff away or throw it away... but not anymore. Ebay selling HERE I COME! (or I guess I am already there...)

Banging party(s) weekend!

My head is spending from all the events of this weekend! I totally forgot that we are having a potluck lunch today because of all the festivities. Let me start off with Saturday's big day. It was my Jessy's wedding shower. 30 people came and since it was only my second time throwing a party, I was a lil nervous.

Friday night Jessica and I had dinner, went shopping for appetizers, helium tank and little extras from the party store. We got back to her place, made the center pieces, backed the cake (and yes the first one was left in too long and burnt, haha) and got stuff ready for the next day's events. I got home a little before 2AM and was up at 6AM to run some errands and make it make to her house for decorating and my job as hostees. The weather was beautiful! Sunny and a light breeze.

High lights from the party -

1. I have 3 wonderful sisters and a niece who helped out a lot to put up decoration, help clean up, and have everything run smoothly! Even two brother-in-laws (one which is the groom) who helped with blowing up balloons, take out trash and set up the drinks, cooler and ice.
2. Games - There was one were we split everyone into group and they had 3 minutes to make the best wedding dress out of TP. Then, they modelled had to walk down the imaginary run way for the Bride-to-be, The one all the way to the right won.
Another favorite game was a scenario one where the bride is on her honeymoon and the groom tells her they have dinner reservation and she only has 2 minute to get ready... then the light go out. This is where we put the blind fold on her. The guest can't tell her what the item is, but can yell out helpful hints on where it goes and direction on putting it on. Doesn't she look smashing!!!!

3. Food - We had Chinese food.. one of my sister's favorite and the cake was the best part. Love the topper!

The groom even stopped by for a guest appearance. He wanted to say "hi!" to his family!

The party was a huge hit. Everyone had sooo much fun and my sister got great gifts, quality time with family and friends, plus, we all bonded and will know each other at the wedding.

Sunday was a busy day. Off to a baptism for Jay's co-worker's son. When Jay and I got to the party we were starving and pretty much didn't leave the food area. They had some yummy chicken!

Afterwards, off we were to Dave & Busters for my good friends b-day! He's turning the big 38!!!

Here he is posing with his girlfriend!

Here we all are posing for a group picture and think just take the darn picture so we can enjoy Persian tiramisui cake. Yumm!

Lost, but now THEY are found

This morning when I got up and out of my room I noticed something was missing. I'm used to two fur balls welcoming, but both were no where in sight. I checked in my TV stand as Angelina loves hiding in there as if it was her own personal cave heated by electronic. Nope, no kitty there. I checked the second room, closet and called their names and began to panic when I I didn't hear a meow or see them. After all, my place is not that big and my kitties always come when I call for them. Last night was a very windy night and I remember Jay bringing in the screen to a window and saying it fell. I was already asleep and didn't think anything of it, but now that my kitties were gone I knew the lil suckers had escaped and probably thought they could reenter via the window. To their surprise they would find it locked. Now it was morning and seeing how I was half naked, I grabbed a robe and went outside calling their names and called Jay frantically. All of a sudden, Angelina appeared from under the water heater closet and slowly made her way into the house. She gave me a look like she didn't know if she should be mad at me for not hearing their meowing in the night to let them in or if I should be mad at her for escaping. One kitty found and another one to go. I kept calling Maxwell and no sign from him. I looked where Angelina has came from and I see little eyes looking at me. He moved even slower then she did and only made it half way out and gave me a look. Darn spoiled house cats! I picked him up and carried him back into the nice, WARM comforts of home. I looked around and said you two have it made, two littler boxes, two tent houses and two beds and did I forget to mention food (dry & wet), fresh water, toys and cat nip. They had NO idea of the outside world! They are so domesticated that the first thing Angelina did when she got in was use the litterbox. Poor thing was holding it all night and since there was no litter box outside she didn't know where to go.

More signs that it was just meant to be...

I got a call from my doctor today regarding my recent MRI on my shins. Seems I have stress fractures all over. Someone should be calling me shortly to get me set up on bone stimulator that I need to wear 20 minutes before I go to bed. I looked up information on it online and it can take 6months to a YEAR to completely heal, so no more running events for me. He recommends that no spinning classes or standing up pedalling on a bike for 6 weeks. Good thing I didn't run that marathon, cuz I would be in a whole lot of pain! I guess I need to get myself on a swimming routine if I want to look good for my sister's wedding which is in a month.
